Training as an industrial clerk
What skills do I need to have?
You are able to comprehend logical correlations and work well with numbers, can handle word processing and spreadsheet programs on a PC and enjoy working in a team with both male and female colleagues as well as with customers and suppliers. The minimum school requirement is a good school-leaving certificate (Hauptschule), but a certificate from a more advanced secondary school is preferable.
How is the training structured?
The three-year training takes place in vocational school (1 1/2 days per week) as well as on the company premises (3 1/2 days per week). You will become familiar with all of the departments and will gain insight into the respective areas of expertise. Your training at elumatec will take you through the following areas:
- Marketing / Sales / Order Processing
- Purchasing / Job Preparation
- Inventory Management / Logistics
- Accounting and Finance / Controlling
- Service / Customer Service
Brief visits to the IT, Design and Quality Assurance departments will give you a better overall picture of the company.
What can I do later as an industrial clerk?
Industrial clerks have one of the most versatile careers. They are able to work in the areas of purchasing, job preparation, sales, the export department, personnel or in accounting, depending on their talents and preferences.
Can I obtain further qualifications after completing the training?The career of an industrial clerk is an excellent basis for accelerating your career later by taking additional continuing education measures. Whether as a Bachelor of Business Administration and Operations (CCI), a chartered accountant or a business manager, many options for furthering your qualifications are open to you.
