The someco experts will be on hand at BAU to explain the range of products, using the latest digital technology.

From machine manufacturer to system provider

Over the past two years, elumatec has invested heavily in enhancing and developing successful and new products. The pandemic years were also used to forge ambitious plans for the future. “For our customers, we are a system provider offering solutions across the entire production process”, says Nebojsa Wosel. From consulting and customer service to maintenance and customisation, the company, which belongs to the Italian Voilàp Holding, now has all stages covered. Close integration within the group creates synergies and opens up new sales opportunities now and in the future. Voilàp Brasil, Voilàp Italia and Voilàp Iberica are the first companies to take over distribution for several of the group’s brands.

Paolo F. Bianchi, CEO of elumatec, has announced a planned expansion of production in the medium and long term as part of the company’s growth in 2023: “This will allow us to respond to the various requirements of our customers even earlier, more quickly and more effectively.” In May 2022 the new InfoCenter in Mühlacker opened, where customers and staff from all over the world will find unique facilities for presenting and testing products and for training. The heart of the InfoCenter is a hall measuring over 4,000 square metres where the entire product range is on display.

These include the machines that will be showcased on a large scale at BAU 2023:

SBZ 125/85: the cab machine with dynamic shuttle operation goes into series production in 2023

Save time, save space, save money: The SBZ 125/85 is an enclosed cabin machine with an eight-metre working length and five axes, and thanks to dynamic shuttle operation it can be divided into two machining areas or operated across both areas. Users can machine and insert new materials at the same time, which makes machining aluminium, PVC and thin-walled steel profiles even more efficient and economical.

Access to this remarkably compact machine is monitored and protected by a fully programmable laser with division into three zones. The design from elumatec provides easy access for servicing, and the cabin also protects against noise and swarf. In addition to the rotating control unit, new technology for faster tool changes combined with a larger tool holder makes the SBZ 125/85 a milestone in the elumatec range. The state-of-the-art 5-axis controller is combined with absolute rotary encoder systems to eliminate the need for main axis homing, and the SBZ 125/85 has a power torque spindle motor with enclosed speed control which saves valuable time by reducing spindle start-up and braking times.

The impressive SBZ 155: making 5-axis profile machining easier than ever before

The top-of-the-range elumatec model with an innovative design is sure to catch the eye at BAU. As elumatec’s first 5-axis machine in a gantry design, the SBZ 155 raises the bar for automated CNC machining of aluminium and thin-walled steel profiles. It allows industrial and metal construction customers to accelerate their operations and open up new business areas, and its large machining envelope makes it stand out from the competition – especially as customers get maximum flexibility through configurable equipment options. The new SBZ 155 will be delivered to customers in the course of this year.

The tool changeover times in this top-of-the-range model are minimised by the high rates of travel of the servo axes to guarantee optimum machining cycles. Customisable equipment options give customers maximum flexibility to make their production processes even more efficient, and optional features include 6-sided machining from below with an angle head and the space-saving gantry drive. Its large on-board magazines can be equipped with 14 standard tools, and depending on the individual configuration, up to six special tools and two 200 or 550 mm diameter saw blades can be used.

SBZ 118: precision, ergonomics and customisable equipment for the perfect introduction to the world of CNC

The combination of full functionality and a smaller footprint – with a machining length of three metres, it’s the most compact CNC machine in the current elumatec range – makes the elumatec SBZ 118 the ideal entry-level model. Although it requires little space in production, the 3-axis profile machining centre offers the full range of equipment for routing, drilling and notching. Automated CNC machining can be carried out from up to five sides with an optional angle head and end milling machine. The inclined bed technology and the on-board 5-fold tool changer make it easy to use, and the front visor enables ergonomic and above all safe operation, even for taller people. A side service door facilitates maintenance.

The SBZ 118 has customisable equipment options, including up to two on-board angle head changers, expansion to up to six clamps, an additional length stop with overlength machining and a barcode scanner. The SBZ 118 is an easy way for companies looking to get started with automated CNC machining, and elumatec is on hand to help them at every step of the journey.

The SBZ 628 XXL: cutting and machining centre with unbeatable performance for all users

The most powerful model in the 628 series machines profiles for window, door, façade and industrial applications quickly, safely and fully automatically. The three configuration levels – S, XL or XXL – of the machine are available in two working directions, enabling customised solutions for all users and for a wide range of process sequences. As the profiles passes through, the added value becomes clear: the SBZ 628 boasts outstanding flexibility which exceeds all expectations, with a range of options that allow the system to be set up to suit customers’ individual requirements. The rotating gripper and travelling clamp ensure greater efficiency.

As standard, the SBZ 628 is equipped with linear servo drive, a ring module with four (expandable up to eight) spindles and one (S/XL) or two (XXL) sawing units. Customised configurations can be designed on request.

BAU 2023 sees the launch of new options for our machines, including profile support, axis-controlled clamp adjustment and proportional valves to provide specific clamping pressures for particular profiles.

eluCad & eluCloud: machine and production data in real time

The SBZ 125/85, SBZ 155 and SBZ 118 models showcased at BAU 2023, as well as many others, are ready for the eluCloud software solution. This application for data analysis in production has established itself with elumatec customers , as it provides transparency and offers tips for process optimisation – reducing costs, ensuring operational readiness and leading to ongoing improvements. Also developed by elumatec is the eluCad software, which makes digital programming of profile machining centres simple and is designed to suit how elumatec machines are used by allowing full flexibility and user-friendliness. Consistent development of this software duo in cooperation with customers will make workflows even faster in the age of Industry 4.0.
